For the past few days I have been battling a major sinus infection. It amazes me what a little bit of feeling under the weather can do. Prior to today I was feeling triumphant. I was in ‘the zone’ and felt like I was winning.
I continued to exercise even though I was ill. I just wanted to keep making progress. It did nothing but deplete my energy and make me hungrier than I would have been otherwise.
The thought I gave to what I was eating was limited to ‘that looks low carb.’ Right there is where my caring about progress got sidetracked. My ‘give a darn’ was breaking down.
Today I started analyzing the labels of what I had been eating. Honey roasted turkey, peanuts made with sugar and imitation crab made with cornstarch and sweetener. All of it was verified when I tested for ketones this afternoon and nothing showed up.
Back to the drawing board? I don’t think so. I know what works. I just have to get back to it.
I am not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow. But I will face it, forgive myself and move on. Negative self talk will not help me accomplish my goal.
My weigh in pictures from the past few days are below. Yesterday was certainly a victory. Down 9 lbs. overall! I am celebrating that and looking forward to getting back into the game.
I hope your summer is going well.
