I live in Florida and split my time between Naples and Miami. I took the pictures above while walking on the Gordon River Greenway in Naples. I have a lot of scenic choices when it comes to outdoor activity.
I like to work out first thing in the morning. It gives me a sense of accomplishment. I enjoy running or walking the most. The longer the distance the better. Especially if I can be outdoors.
My husband did morning PT for 20 years in the Marine Corp. Now he hates morning workouts. He likes to go to the gym after work. He does a few minutes of cardio and then hits the weights hard. It relieves the stress of his day.
My friends are involved in everything from Hot Yoga to Jiu Jitsu. One friend tried passionately to get me involved in High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). HIIT transitions you quickly from one exercise to the next. I am pretty sure I would not like it.
Jason White writes about fitness online. In his article on greatist.com, he explains the difference between slow and fast twitch muscles. Basically, the kind of muscle we are born with determines which type of exercise we are better at doing. We are all created equal, but certainly not the same.
In one of my past posts, I talk about my back and joint pain. I don’t break any land speed records when I move. Someday I will cross off running a marathon from my bucket list. It may be an exercise in patience to get there.
