I woke up this morning feeling a little slow. Then I realized I forgot to take my thyroid med yesterday for the second time this week! That explains the sluggishness I feel.
I was diagnosed with a low thyroid problem (hypo thyroidism) a few years ago. I started taking synthroid .25, then moved to synthroid .5, then synthroid .75 and now I take .75 every day except Sunday.
On Sunday I take an extra half pill. I love that extra half dose. Most days I get sleepy in the afternoon…but on Sundays, when I take the extra half dose, I do not get tired and feel great all day! Maybe my endo doc will bump me up again after my next round of blood work. I follow whatever he prescribes.
I have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. From what I have learned, most people who have low thyroid have this type. It has something to do with an inflammatory response in the body. It is more common for women than men. My doctor told me it makes it harder to lose weight.
A few months back, I did a strict low carb diet for two weeks. I didn’t lose weight. What worked well for me years ago- simply quit working. The ketone supplement I am drinking is making a difference this time around. It kills my cravings and even carries me past less than perfect achievement on the low carb front.
This is a sincere blog about my experience in what works. I am hyping this supplement only because I sincerely believe this is working! Here is the link to order a sample if you want to try it.
Here is a video that talks about ketones and auto-immune conditions.. I did not see this video until after I knew it was working for me. There is solid research into how ketones help with my condition. Here is a link to an article on research into ketogenic low carb diets and Hashimoto’s. Evidence of ketones working for auto-immune conditions like Hashimoto’s.
Here is another thing I know works for me; it is called working out. I did not work out on purpose the first few days I started the ketone supplement. I wanted to see if it lived up to the hype of helping without working out. The answer is yes! It put me into ketosis without working out.
Last night I finally made it to the gym. I did 21 minutes on the elliptical. I was really tired and that was all I could do. Then with the realization this morning that I forgot my thyroid med yesterday, that explains why I had low energy at the gym.
To summarize what is working for me, so far it is mixing up and drinking the ketone supplement, intermittent fasting and aiming for eating low carb but not being too strict about it. I like bbq sauce on my chicken! I can’t believe I am getting away with losing weight while eating stuff with bbq sauce!
That is all I have to say for today. Wherever you are in your progress toward all of your goals, I wish you well.
