A picture is worth a thousand words. Day 6 morning weigh in and I lost 3.2 lbs. since yesterday and 5.6 pounds overall. I could not believe my eyes this morning!
Yesterday, I had my usual coffee with heavy cream. Then I mixed up and enjoyed one full pack of the ketone supplement I have been trying out. I used Keto//OS Maui Max non-caffeinated version. I ate a big plate of roasted chicken with barbecue sauce around 1:30 pm. That was all I was hungry for. I was busy and forgot to take a second dose of the supplement in the afternoon.
I know veggies and lower sugar fruits are good for me. After I reach my goal, I will gradually add those back into my diet.
I want to lose enough fat to be under 140 on the scale. In the past when I worked out 5-6 times per week and had plenty of muscle, I found 128-136 lbs. was my sweet spot. I am 5’6″ and 50 years old.
I am keeping in mind that it has to be fat loss. I want to preserve and add to the muscle I have. I really need to get back into the gym and start pushing weights. I still have not worked out, although yesterday I was pretty active just running errands.
To help make low carb eating easy, I am keeping a Costco rotisserie chicken in my frig. I debone it and chunk up the meat into bite size pieces. I also make sure I put the juice at the bottom of the Costco container into the chunks. That juice is full of fat and flavor. Perfect for my new low carb lifestyle!
The only thing I can credit the decreased appetite to is the somewhat low carb eating the previous five days along with the ketone supplement and using intermittent fasting. Here is a link on intermittent fasting, if you would like to read up on the concept. I think most people are aware of what low carb eating is.
The ketone supplement helps by decreasing both my appetite and cravings. It also puts my body into at least a mild state of ketosis right away. Ketosis is fat burning mode. Here is a link if you would like to order a sample of the supplement and try it for yourself. The sample packs are a great way to try it.
In my previous post, I discuss the problems I have had with getting into ketosis, despite eating a strict low carb diet. That was before I found out about ketone supplements. Also on day 2, I gave into M and M’s and the supplement helped me to recover ketosis in spite of my bad behavior.
Intermittent fasting is something many people have crticized me for. They tell me I need to eat breakfast. When I do eat breakfast it is ‘game on’ all day for eating.
I naturally do not get hungry until approximately 10 am. When I listen to my body and start my day that way, my hunger goes away by 4 or 5 pm. Assuming I stop eating at 5 pm and do not eat again until 10 am the next day, that is an intermittent fasting period of 17 hours each day. However, it is a battle to not eat when everyone around you is.
I have been prone to eating just because my husband is eating. Sometimes he makes pancakes on the weekends and the smell wakes up my taste buds. So trying to follow what I know works best for me, intermittent fasting, is not always easy to acheive.
I drink coffee with one inch of steamed heavy whipping cream every morning. I am a bit of a freak about my coffee. One of Starbucks’ Baristas turned me on to steamed heavy whipping cream years ago. There was no going back after that. The taste of real cream in your coffee can’t be beat. Steaming it makes it sweeter and it doesn’t cool off my coffee too much like cold cream does.
I feel like getting just that little bit of fat from the cream on my tummy in the morning gets a little bit of a calorie burn going that is just right. I like the way it makes me feel. Coffee may be a drug but there are certainly worse things to be addicted to!
One final thought on yesterday and today; I need to structure my day better so I get to the gym first thing in the morning. I need to get better about having a routine just in general. More things to work on. God isn’t finished with me yet…
I hope you are having a great day!
