I knew that eating simple carbs and sugar and the extra weight they caused, at the very least, were contributing to my mobility issues. I also knew the longer I let it go, the harder it would be to change.
Plateaus are something to push against. They help you climb up to the next level. It is a resting spot to help your body adjust. They do not last forever.
For the past few days I have been battling a major sinus infection. It amazes me what a little bit of feeling under the weather can do. Prior to today I was feeling triumphant. I was in 'the zone' and felt like I was winning.
Meet the fur children. Benny and Abigail. I pet sit from time to time. Benny is one of my friends dogs. He and Abigail adore each other. Most of their time together is spent just like this. They don't move for much that doesn't involve food.

Yesterday I purposely did not make or drink any ketone shakes to see if my body would stay in ketosis without them. The answer is yes. Here is my test strip last night at midnight. It doesn't show a large amount of ketones but it does show at least a moderate level.

Those shakes act like the rubber band in a sling shot flinging you past the hard part of adjusting to low carb and move you past poor planning and suprise situations. Amazing.
I am down another .4 lbs today! Hurray!
